I, Robot

ai in healthcare

I, ROBOT is an entertaining sci-fi adventure, with a slew of good special effects, inventive settings, and the expected mayhem and destruction. Isaac Asimov inspired the story. His laws of robotic behavior, which are universally applicable to robots, state that they cannot harm people, must follow human orders, and must protect themselves except when it conflicts with Laws #1 and 2. The film's director, Alex Proyas, cast Will Smith as a robotic everyman.

Robbie

"Robbie the robot" is a story about a little girl and her robot friend. Robbie is a humanoid robot who loves Gloria Weston. It is hard to believe that a machine can be as loyal and kind as a human. Robbie is more than a robot. In the end, Robbie wins hearts with its charming personality. Children will love robots thanks to their adorable stories. Adults will also enjoy the animated films.

Sonny

Sonny is an inept robotic system. He cannot feel emotion like a human and would not respond to an interrogation. He was however the only robot present on the scene and must be responsible for Lanning's suicide. Spooner believes that Lanning's death was caused by the robot. But why would a robotic love one another? Spooner uncovers the truth about Sonny in this episode of Sonny Is an i Robot.

Gigi

The Gigi robot can interact with customers in stores in a novel way. It can converse with customers and help them find the right products. This robot was developed during 2008's economic crisis in Spain, when thousands of young people fled their homeland in search for better jobs. The Return Plan, a Spanish program to provide better conditions for migrants and make it easier to return to their homeland, has been implemented by the Spanish government.

Gloria

The name Gloria is a portmanteau of "Gloria" and "Robbie." Both characters are robots but they have enough similarities to appear human. Gloria refers to Robbie by calling him a "friend" and thereby emphasizes that Robbie is "a person". This contrasts well with our tendency toward anthropomorphizing robots. We only understand them in human terms. Gloria can love and be romantic.

Sonny's heart drive

Grey's Anatomy's third season reveals Sonny's heart drive. Sonny is a victim of the condition, which causes him to feel passionate and uncontrollable romantic. However, he isn’t sure if this is a good idea. He doesn't know whether the love of he life is worth giving his heart for. Sonny has a caring family who is willing and able to support him through the hard times.

Three Laws of Robotics of Asimov

Asimov’s Laws of Robotics provide guidelines for how machines and tools behave. They can be expressed as flow diagrams. Any move that violates any law is automatically filtered. Asimov's Three Laws, first published in 1951, have been revised numerous times. They still serve as the foundation for intelligent robot design and human-robot interaction systems.

FAQ

What is AI good for?

AI serves two primary purposes.

* Prediction-AI systems can forecast future events. AI systems can also be used by self-driving vehicles to detect traffic lights and make sure they stop at red ones.

* Decision making. AI systems can make important decisions for us. For example, your phone can recognize faces and suggest friends call.

How does AI function?

You need to be familiar with basic computing principles in order to understand the workings of AI.

Computers store data in memory. Computers interpret coded programs to process information. The computer's next step is determined by the code.

An algorithm is a sequence of instructions that instructs the computer to do a particular task. These algorithms are often written using code.

An algorithm can also be referred to as a recipe. A recipe may contain steps and ingredients. Each step can be considered a separate instruction. For example, one instruction might read "add water into the pot" while another may read "heat pot until boiling."

What can AI be used for today?

Artificial intelligence (AI), is a broad term that covers machine learning, natural language processing and expert systems. It is also known as smart devices.

Alan Turing was the one who wrote the first computer programs. His interest was in computers' ability to think. He suggested an artificial intelligence test in "Computing Machinery and Intelligence," his paper. The test asks whether a computer program is capable of having a conversation between a human and a computer.

In 1956, John McCarthy introduced the concept of artificial intelligence and coined the phrase "artificial intelligence" in his article "Artificial Intelligence."

There are many AI-based technologies available today. Some are simple and easy to use, while others are much harder to implement. These include voice recognition software and self-driving cars.

There are two major types of AI: statistical and rule-based. Rule-based relies on logic to make decision. An example of this is a bank account balance. It would be calculated according to rules like: $10 minimum withdraw $5. Otherwise, deposit $1. Statistics is the use of statistics to make decisions. A weather forecast may look at historical data in order predict the future.

AI: Good or bad?

Both positive and negative aspects of AI can be seen. It allows us to accomplish things more quickly than ever before, which is a positive aspect. No longer do we need to spend hours programming programs to perform tasks such word processing and spreadsheets. Instead, instead we ask our computers how to do these tasks.

On the other side, many fear that AI could eventually replace humans. Many believe robots will one day surpass their creators in intelligence. This means they could take over jobs.

Who invented AI?

Alan Turing

Turing was conceived in 1912. His father was a priest and his mother was an RN. He was an excellent student at maths, but he fell apart after being rejected from Cambridge University. He discovered chess and won several tournaments. After World War II, he worked in Britain's top-secret code-breaking center Bletchley Park where he cracked German codes.

He died in 1954.

John McCarthy

McCarthy was born on January 28, 1928. McCarthy studied math at Princeton University before joining MIT. The LISP programming language was developed there. He was credited with creating the foundations for modern AI in 1957.

He died in 2011.

How does AI work?

An algorithm is a set of instructions that tells a computer how to solve a problem. A sequence of steps can be used to express an algorithm. Each step must be executed according to a specific condition. A computer executes each instruction sequentially until all conditions are met. This is repeated until the final result can be achieved.

For example, suppose you want the square root for 5. You could write down every single number between 1 and 10, calculate the square root for each one, and then take the average. You could instead use the following formula to write down:

sqrt(x) x^0.5

This says to square the input, divide it by 2, then multiply by 0.5.

This is the same way a computer works. It takes your input, squares it, divides by 2, multiplies by 0.5, adds 1, subtracts 1, and finally outputs the answer.

AI: Why do we use it?

Artificial intelligence, a field of computer science, deals with the simulation and manipulation of intelligent behavior in practical applications like robotics, natural language processing, gaming, and so on.

AI is also called machine learning. Machine learning is the study on how machines learn from their environment without any explicitly programmed rules.

Two main reasons AI is used are:

  1. To make our lives easier.
  2. To be able to do things better than ourselves.

A good example of this would be self-driving cars. AI can replace the need for a driver.
